Is a higher transition payment possible for you?

When you discuss leaving with your employer, the employer will make you a severance proposal, usually through a settlement agreement (termination document). The transition payment in a settlement agreement is considered the legal minimum to which you are entitled. However, any compensation can be agreed upon by mutual agreement, so there is no reason to settle for the minimum transition payment.
